Sulzner Sickle Cell Anaemia Foundation is the first in the country to incorporate sickle cell anaemia control program in the existing health services of the state government, thus transforming project in to programmatic mode. The current program is based on public private partnership. Sulzner Sickle Cell Anemia Foundation believes that Individuals suffering from Sickle cell disease have the right to quality care. Its mission is to emphasize on the importance of making healthy awareness to provide increased access to qualitative health care, education and poverty alleviation to the Sickle Cell Anaemia Disease community.
Integration with general health services along with the active participation of different sectors, NGOs and the community will be the thrust areas under this program. All the tribal districts, having a network of health institutions will be covered under the program.
SSCAF professionals serve on the Medical and Research Advisory Committee (MARAC). The members represent institutions from throughout the country and cover all of the disciplines related to providing physical and psychosocial healthcare and assistance for individuals with sickle cell Anaemia disease.(SCAD).
